Prayer for education in Coleraine College

Wednesday 29th Feb

“In association with 24-7 Prayer Ireland, Coleraine House of Prayer will be holding an evening to pray for schools, colleges, the university, students, teachers and all associated with education in the region.

24-7 Ireland have made February a month to focus on prayer for… education, and their ‘prayer spaces in schools’ program has really taken off.
Our desire is to focus on the mountain of education, and gather as many people as possible together to cry out for our area.
So – whether you’re an education professional, a student or a parent, you are warmly invited to come and pray with us.

As John Wesley would say…’Prayer is where the action is’.

It’d be great if you can join us there. You maybe already know that Bangor at one time had a continuous intercessory worship cycle that ran for almost 150 years, non-stop.

Thank you for being part of our journey. We’ve had a great ‘first term’ with our new interns Helen & Paul.

Friday lunchtime is our final session before Christmas. We’re winding down after that for the season until Friday 6th Jan

When we kick off again in January we’ll have Jules McConnell. Jules heads up Hand to Hand in Pattaya, Thailand – we’ll keep you posted on the details before that.

This Friday is a justice watch.

We’re focusing our watch on the emerging work of Causeway Christian Services. CCS is the umbrella gathering of compassion ministries and projects happening in our community.

This Friday 8-10pm join us for another intercessory worship session focusing on the sphere of Education in our community.

We’re hearing stories from a number of schools in the area were transformational change is beginning to happen.

For example, we’re hearing of a Scripture Union (SU) established and thriving in one school that previously resisted having one.

The behavioural statistics of another school have significantly improved and staff have directly attributed this to the influence of a local church youth ministry with the kids.

If you are connected in any way with education locally your input can really help transform a generation.

P.S. Ian shared this fascinating insight:

1859 – Charles Darwin wrote famous work ‘On The Origin Of The Species’.  Also the year that Karl Marx published a trial volume of what later became known as Das Kapital.

These 2 works have formed foundations for many arguments which have sort to draw people away from God.  Yet in the same year – God himself was being revealed extensively – across America, parts of Europe, and, as we all know  – across this very province.

While some were being drawn to debate the very existence of God – God himself was showing up and changing communities.  in a very simple way I think that is extremely significant!!  as they say ‘timing is everything!!’

As Ian Randall – in his book ‘Rhythms of Revival’ points out.. “ at the heart of this spiritual renewal was a belief in prayer and a conviction that that revival would spread through prayerful waiting in God’s presence”.

So – when the people of God got on their faces, God began to unveil His!!

This Friday night’s session we focus on the ‘Church’. The mission of the local church in the area.

Join us 8-10pm.

Here’s a novel way that you can support C-HOP without donating money.

Let us sell your stuff on a ‘charity’ auction on eBay.

I’d wager you have some items in your house that you no longer use that could fetch some cash. It’s win-win – you get to de-clutter and we get some funds for projects and running C-HOP

You don’t even have to send us the item.

All you need to do is email us the details and photos and we’ll list it on eBay. Then you can either get the item to us or, when it sells, send it to the buyer (we’ll pay the postage).

Simple as that.

This Friday join us again 8-10pm for a strategic intercessory worship session for family culture issues.

In the next few weeks sessions will focus on The Church, Education and Business. If these are areas of life that you are connected with consider joint us on Fridays.

We’re going to be visiting a number of local churches to lead sessions and share the vision.

1. Take ownership of a 1 or 2 hour prayer watch – either weekly,
or 2-weekly?

This could be on any issue that you’re passionate about and it can be a simple affair with or without music. Drop us a line for more info.

2. Give a small donation to help with a few costs?

3. Host our interns for a meal once in a while?

We have 2 interns this year and it’d be great to bless them with occasional hospitality for their commitment to our community here.

4. Help out with any youth watches we may work on doing?

We’d love to facilitate the emerging younger generation of kids & teens who are hungry for God & His Kingdom but have no appetite for religion – fancy helping?

5. Promote C-HOP in your church and facilitate a visit to do a
presentation?

We’ve had a few invitations lately to take church services & gatherings and we’d love to do more to spark and inspire the idea that communities can see transformational change through intercessory worship & prayer.
