Quick update that Ray Hughes will be joined by worship leaders Brian & Ramey Whalen at our Friday night gathering on 3rd Sept.

Here's Brian & Ramey at The Call in Nashville in 2007
Ray has just recently been teaching at Bethel School of Worship in California. He is also a prophetic historian fascinated with re-digging the old wells of biblical, world and recent history an figuring ways of releasing the fresh word of God for the kingdom today. His book “Sound of Heaven – Symphony of Earth” is a ground breaking work on capturing God’s sounds and injecting them back onto the cultures for which they were intended.

We'll be kicking back into our regular schedule again in September with some guests including Ray Hughes (http://selahministries.com/).

Those of us who got to experience Ray last time he was here will be champing at the bit to get another dose - he is a funny, funny guy!

Anyways, here's how you may be able to help. We're looking at Friday 3rd Sept for Ray and we'd love to find a local church here in N.Ireland for Ray to speak on Sunday 5th.

Let me know if you think he'd fit your church then.

Ian has just released his first independent album, The Journey.

Although Ian has appeared on a number of live worship albums over the years - most notably the 'Engage 24' CD released in 2003, this is his first studio album.  It was recorded during June 2010, and is a mixture of modern hymns and also features several songs which have 'emerged' during live worship times at C-HOP.

Sheet music will be available soon from Ian's website www.ianhannahmusic.com.

In the meantime you can snap up a CD which will be lovingly wrapped and shipped to your door for only £11.95 inc postage.

Imagine - hundreds of millions of Christians in ALL the countries of the world, gathering to have a Day of Repentance and Prayer - whether it be a stadium or arena full of people or a few believers coming together in secret for fear of persecution, some even in their work place.

WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US AS WE TAKE PART IN THE GDOP 2010!

"Armagh is the place where St.Patrick built his church; the ecclesiastical capital of Ireland.  Where better to gather at Pentecost to pray for this land; to ask God to forgive us for the hurts of the past and to be reconciled to each other.  The Global Day of Prayer provides this opportunity and we thank God for it." Rev. Denis Maguire

Saint Patrick’s Pageant at 3pm followed by GDOP event from 3.30pm -5.30pm

Some of you will remember when over 10000 of us gathered at
Stormont for a previous GDoP which was followed by an amazing
breakthrough in the political culture in our country at the time.

This year will be significant for the Church culture and
influence in this nation.

Could I ask that you read this letter from Margaret Clarke on
behalf of the Transformations Ireland committee and consider a
response - it's important.

Thanks - Andy

From Transformations Ireland:

To all our friends and supporters!

We hope this letter finds you in a place of encouragement.

This year on Pentecost Sunday 23rd May as part of the Global Day
of Prayer initiative we are asking Christians from across Ireland
to gather together in Armagh to pray for our land and for the
church. As with the previous large gatherings at Stormont we feel
the timing and need for this coming together is something God has
put on our hearts to do. We are also encouraging people to take
part in 10 Days of Prayer preceding Pentecost Sunday and 90 Days
of RAK - Random Acts of Kindness following Pentecost.

We are writing to you to ask for your help as we move forward in
our planning for these "Global Day of Prayer 2010" events. You
are probably aware that in 2005 and 2006 over 10,000 people
gathered to worship and pray at Stormont as we joined with
nations throughout the world as part of the then new initiative.
Indeed these were historic events for us here in Northern Ireland
and since then we have been encouraged to see our Assembly back
in action. From 2007 to 2009 Transformations Ireland have helped
encourage and facilitate GDOP events and the 10 Days of Prayer at
local level bringing people from across the Christian community
together to join with the rest of the globe as we pray for our
own nation and our world.

We have been thankful for all of the individuals, churches,
businesses and other organisations who have contributed
financially, and made it possible to run with this vision for the
last 5 years. This event has a financial implication and we need
to raise £20,000 this year. We would ask therefore if you would
prayerfully consider whether you could assist us financially at
this time. Any contribution will be appreciated and gratefully
received, cheques payable to Transformations Ireland. As we have
charity status, we are grateful also to individuals who are able
to "gift-aid" their contributions.

Thank you for taking time to read this.

You can donate any amount here:

Yours sincerely

Margaret Clarke
(Secretary to the committee)

We're 'back in the saddle' after the holiday weekend - hope you
had a refreshing  time.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) we're back in the Coleraine University but
instead of our usual venue it's a prayer walk starting at the wind turbine
on the Campus at 12:15.

Friday evening's session continues with our 'discipling a
nation' series and focuses on education issues.

teacher, student, administrator or somewhere in-between we'd love
to pray with and for you.

Join us 8pm Friday.

In a few days I'll write and bring you up to speed with Global

Global Day Of Prayer - 23rd May 2010.

This year GDoP in Ireland will happen in Armagh, the ecclesiastical of Ireland.

We're excited about the significance of this. It's the historical seat of authority for both the Anglican and Catholic church streams on this island.

Keep up to speed on developments via the Transformations Ireland website: http://www.transformations-ireland.org/

In 2009 hundreds of millions of Christians from 220 nations of the world united in prayer and to glorify the name of the Lord!

Preparations for Global Day of Prayer 2010 are kicking off as follows:

  • 10 days of prayer: 13 May - 22 May
  • Global Day of Prayer: Pentecost Sunday 23 May
  • 90 days of blessing: 24 May - 21 Aug
GDOP 2010 is an invitation for all Christians to take part why not:

  • Plan to join  - put the dates in your church/organization/community diary now.
  • Share the vision of coming together on one day to pray for our communities, nations and World with churches

I just wanted to write a quick report on where C-HOP
has been going in 2009 and where we'd like to head in 2010.

Firstly, I'd like to thank you for your continued support for C-HOP.
It's always good to see people gathering at the different
sessions, and to watch as God has been speaking into people's
lives.  I am also so aware of those who live overseas who pray
for C-HOP regularly.  Thanks.

During 2009 we saw a number of significant things happen.  Our
interns - Gillian and Anna - were an amazing help. Gillian is now
in the USA, but Anna who will be back in 2010 to spend the year
helping to develop the internship program (amongst other things).
Check out the 3 month Internship program here
http://www.c-hop.co.uk/internship.html

The key thing for me was that we established a rhythm of prayer.
It almost didn't matter how many hours - as long we could try
and do something each day.  We managed to establish 17 hours a
week, and each session is very different:

The morning watches - 6-8am - had the potential to be a real
struggle - but have turned into very powerful watches.  It's
amazing how the Holy Spirit energises us at such an early hour.

We also now have a weekly Wednesday morning Prayer Walk
happening around the Heights.  This has become one of my
favourite parts of C-HOP.

The Wednesday evening "Space" sessions have been a blessing.  Jo
Hogg in particular has done quite a few - some of which have been
broadcast live onto the internet.

I have loved how the Friday night Strategic Intercession watches
have found their own shape.  We have enjoyed welcoming many
guests & prayer partners, and we have seen much breakthrough
in prayer there.

The daytime watches have been the hardest to get going. We do
meet monthly with the Pais Project, praying for their work in
local schools, and the Friday lunchtime watches have been very
strong - mainly thanks to Carolyn's leadership. For next year, we
will continue with those watches, but some of them may take a
slightly different shape.

Another important aspect if C-HOP is travelling teams. We took
teams away to England and Thailand, as well as other parts of NI.
We were also regularly involved with prayer at Stormont for the
government.

As we head into 2010  - what's next??  Well, I'm already
planning return trips to Thailand (this year's visit was
incredible!), so if you'd be interested in coming let us know.
We also have an exciting "Space" program for Wednesdays,
including guest worship leaders from all over the country - some
well known, others new but great!!

We are in the final stages of establishing a University Prayer
Watch every Wednesday afternoon  - which we believe will be of
great significance. I'm hoping this will kick off at the end of
January.

I am also in the process and firming up our Friday Strategic
Watches - and will release details as soon as possible.  I would
also love to see a development in the early morning prayer
walking.  Wouldn't it be amazing if people did an early morning
prayer walk, once a week, in each of the residential areas around
Coleraine.  Imagine the impact that would have.  If you like the
idea, why not get in touch.

Where does this leave us??  Well - as I look over this past year
I see some things which confirm to me that what we are doing is
right.  2 weeks ago, the local newspaper reported that Coleraine
crime figures were down by 4% - which may not seem much, but it
goes against a NI trend where figures have risen by 3%. I am
hearing encouraging stories coming out of the Heights which I
firmly believe are happening because of the prayers of the
people. I am hearing about regular healings on the streets; about
ministry to the poor growing in it's influence.  I know on the
surface at times things seem bleak in Coleraine - but there are
lots of things to be encouraged about - in the midst of darkness
there is significant light.

One of the things God has put on our hearts as we work out this
whole idea of raising a culture of prayer, is that we begin to
see prayer watches being established in different "mountains of
Culture" within our community.  This also ties into another
thought that I have been having - in that the shape of C-HOP is
changing. I think that this House has many rooms.  Some of the
activity is happening in Railway Road (Mornings, Space, Strategic
Intercession), but we also are finding ways of spreading out
across the community (the University, the Heights Prayer Walk).
Perhaps we are seeing a whole community becoming a HOP!!  Our
desire would be to partner with businesses in praying for the
marketplace; to facilitate more specific prayer for churches, and
also into areas like the hospital etc.

In saying all of this - one thing we really need is people to
help.

I want to just ask whether those of you living in Coleraine /
North Coast reading this - could you give 2 hours a month??
Especially when we're in the Prayer Room, having a few people to
stand with us really helps to keep the watches going.

This is not about creating a big ministry, but it is about
maintaining what we have and seeing it expand.  So - if you're
free in the mornings (they are such a blessed time - it's hard to
put into words), or could manage one Friday a month to stand with
us alongside the various guest groups we invite in, then we'd
love to see you.  Just come along. Alternatively - during the day
the room is open at certain times.

Why not come in and rest a while - find a sacred space in the
middle of your hectic day.  If you'd like to help us musically,
we're looking for more musicians to help with the watches too -
just get in touch.

I'd also love to know people's thoughts and feedback from this
past year.  How can we improve what we do?  Is the communication
link clear enough? Has God spoken to you about C-HOP.  We'd love
to know you heart and mind on this.

I appreciate how busy we all are, and therefore time is
precious.  I am also aware of the powerhouse that is the prayer
movement, and I believe the more we tap into it the greater
transformation we will see.

God bless you this Christmas, and I pray 2010 will be an amazing
year for you.

Ian Hannah

developing there as well as being involved in the
event itself.

It would be great if you'd consider prayer
partnering with him for the trip and Ruth and the
kids at home while he's away.

I don't know what internet access he'll have
there but he may be able to blog update you along
the way.

1. Friday Session - Our student community
2. Wednesday 'Space' session

============================================
1. Friday Session - our student community
============================================

Coleraine is a university town which means that a significant part of our population are students. Friday's strategic session this week will be focused on what God is doing among the student community in the area.

Again, a fusion of worship & intercession will focus our praying authority on this vibrant section of our culture.

See you there!

============================================
2. Wed 'Space' session
============================================

Nine years ago when we kicked off our first event in St.Patrick's church our inaugural team included Mildred Rainey. It's a real pleasure to have Mildred lead our 'Space' session this Wednesday.

Look forward to being refueled during a chilled, refreshing session.

We're glad you asked!
As you probably know C-HOP is run by a team of volunteers. It has been a lean, low cost operation due to the generosity of folks donating time, PA gear and other needs that arise from time to time.

In 2008 we have made the decision to change to a neutral, non-church based venue. This proved to be a good move for us.

Now in 2009 we have significantly increased the use of the premises which means that we incur an increased cost of rent, and a little capital expenditure.

If you’d like to invest in the C-HOP vision to have a regular and growing intercessory worship presence in our community (and beyond) then we’d like to help you do that!

You can donate financially in the following ways:

1. Standing Order. Hit reply and ask for a monthly C-HOP Standing Order Form. Print, complete it for an amount of your choice and return to the address on the form

2. Cheque. Send a cheque for any amount, payable to ‘Engage’, 26a Railway Road, Coleraine, BT52 1PE

3. Credit Card/PayPal. Simply click on the donate button on the side bar to the right - It’s secure (your details are not transmitted to us) and you don’t even need to have a PayPal account to use PayPal.

Thanks for your support - a little goes a long way.
